Job Summary
The Media Producer/Coordinator leads and oversees all media production activities at AISRS, from concept development to final delivery. This role is responsible for producing high-quality multimedia content that aligns with AISRS’s mission, brand identity, and strategic communication goals. This position involves coordinating crew members, equipment, locations, permits, budgets, and contracts, while ensuring smooth communication among departments and external stakeholders. The position also involves in preparing call sheets, arranging travel and accommodation, tracking expenses, and overseeing timelines to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of the final media product across various platforms. Working closely with creative, editorial, technical, and research teams, the Media Producer ensures efficient workflows, strong storytelling, technical excellence, and consistent audience engagement across television, radio, digital, and social media platforms.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end media production, including pre-production, production, and post-production.
- Plan and manage television, radio, digital, and social media programs.
- Develop editorial calendars, production schedules, and broadcasting timelines.
- Manage budgets, schedules, and resource allocation for media projects.
- Oversee production of videos, interviews, podcasts, reports, visual stories, and infographics.
- Ensure all content meets AISRS editorial standards, ethics, accessibility, and branding guidelines.
- Approve final media outputs prior to publication or broadcast.
- Supervise recording sessions, studio operations, and audio-visual quality.
- Ensure proper use of cameras, lighting, microphones, and studio equipment.
- Troubleshoot production and technical issues in coordination with technical teams.
- Lead and mentor producers, videographers, editors, and creative staff.
- Manage relationships with external vendors, talent, and production partners.
- Contribute to media production strategy and institutional storytelling initiatives.
- Analyze audience engagement and performance data to improve future content.
- Prepare weekly and monthly production and performance reports.
- Support live events, conferences, research launches, and public dialogues with media coverage.
- Maintain production archives and digital media libraries.
- Train junior staff on production standards, ethics, and technical skills.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Media Director.
Work Conditions
- Based at AISRS headquarters with occasional field travel.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, or irregular hours during urgent productions or events.
Jobs Requirements
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in media production tools including:
- Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Audition
- Photoshop, Illustrator
- Camera, lighting, and audio systems
- Knowledge of motion graphics, animation principles, and live-streaming tools.
- Familiarity with digital publishing platforms and content management systems.
- Understanding of video formats, resolutions, archiving, and broadcasting workflows
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Media Studies, Film, Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
- Master’s degree preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years of professional experience in media production or newsroom operations.
- Senior/Executive level: 8–10+ years managing complex media projects and teams.
- Experience in TV studios, digital media centers, think tanks, or NGOs is an advantage.
Languages
- Fluent in Pashto and Dari.
- Strong proficiency in English (written and spoken)
